Kiki Does Comedy
Kiki (@kikidoescomedy) started her comedy journey (even though she thinks calling it a “journey” sounds pretentious) in San Francisco before and in-between the pandemic. There she took several rewarding turns in the revolving door that is San Francisco Comedy College under the wise and wizened tutelage of Kurtis Matthews, proprietor.
She moved to Portland, OR in 2024 and hit the ground ambling quickly with classes at Curious Comedy, studying under the generous and watchful eye of Joe John Sanchez III (@jjs_iii) who, in the same year, was voted one of Willamette Week’s Funniest Five. Most recently she has been learning at the knee with one of Portland’s undeniably funniest people, the affable and laughable Arlo C. Weierhauser whom she adores, beyond.
Kiki has been doing ten million open mics and is fond of hyperbole. She produces (with Maeve Connor) and is an ongoing host of the bi-monthly Nu-Glitter Queer Comedy Open Mic at Peacock PDX AND Back2Earth in Portland.
Kiki is in the second half (or third third) of her life. Although quite demure in her daily life, on stage she enjoys telling raunchy lesbian jokes that she constantly wonders if she’s too old to tell. So far, she hasn’t been canceled or asked to stop (by anyone important).
She’s a generally nice person with an unintentional (and ADHD-related) ornery (read: clueless) streak.
If you book her, she will be surprised, delighted, and grateful (rule of threes) and will reward you with videos of kittens running on treadmills and giant wheels that you will feel very happy to have seen and that cannot be found on the internet because she filmed them in the cat shelter she calls home.
